Sophomore, Catholic Central HS

This is Becky’s second season with the Lady Bucs. She is a biology major who played four years of volleyball and basketball at Catholic Central High School in Marinette. She won the Spartan Award and the American Legion Bronze Award during her high school career.

Kim Coble #41
Sophomore, Peshtigo HS

Kim is a National Honors Society student who was on the volleyball, basketball (captain), softball and track teams during her four years at Peshtigo High school. This is Kim’s second season with the Lady Bucs volleyball team. She is an elementary education major.

Katie Barahona-Valenciano #24
Freshman, Marinette HS

?Katie is a 2006 Marinette graduate and the new setter for the Lac Bucs. She joins us from UW-Oshkosh where she was recruited to the National Champion Track & Field Team. Her volleyball experience includes over 8 years on the court. She was also a Defensive Specialist for the Green Bay Juniors Volleyball Club Team. She is a Human Biology major in pursuit of a doctrine in Physical Therapy. Besides sports, Katie’s service activities include USRH Programs Chairperson, National Honor Society Vice President, Student Representative to the Board of Education, Special Olympics shot put coach, and many more which led to her recognition at the national level. She has been awarded the Community Service Award, “Teen Making a Difference,” the 2006 Prudential Spirit Award, the President’s Volunteer Service Award from the President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation, the Distinguished Athlete Award, the Spirit Award 2006, and the National Choral Award.

Katie Jo Pockat #15
Sophomore, Gillett HS

Katie Jo played four years of volleyball and basketball, one year of softball and 3 years of track at Gillett High School. She is the recipient of the Paul and Don Neverman Scholarship and was Student Senate treasurer and a member of the Campus Activity Board last year.

Krystal Shutte #32
Freshman, Wabeno HS

Krystal played basketball with the Lady Bucs last year. This is her first year playing volleyball for UW-Marinette, but she played four years of volleyball in high school at the setter and hitter positions. At Waubeno she earned two-year First Team All-Conference, two-year MVP, and two-year honorable mention All-Area by the Green Bay Press Gazette. She is an English writing major with a journalism minor. She currently has an internship with Bay Cities radio, writes for “The Manifest” student newspaper and is looking forward to a career as a journalist.

Kiley Wortner #21
Freshman, Peshtigo HS

Kiley played volleyball at Peshtigo for four years. She also played basketball and softball. She earned First Team All-Conference setter for volleyball and First Team All-Conference infield for softball. She plans to transfer to UW-Oshkosh after her associate degree at UW-Marinette. Still deciding on a major.
