Cast Chosen for "Once on this Island Jr."

UW-Marinette Continuing Education’s Children's Theatre will present "Once on this Island Jr.," a retelling of the Hans Christian Andersen fairytale "The Little Mermaid" with a cast of 80, June 4, 6 & 7 at 7 pm and June 5 at 2 pm the Herbert L. Williams Theatre. "Once on this Island Jr.," sponsored by Kimberly Clark Corporation, is set on a Caribbean island and based on the novel "My Love, My Love" by Rosa Guy. The lyrics are by Lynn Ahrens; music by Stephen Flaherty.
The story follows TiMoune, (Erin Ehlers) a poor girl who falls in love with Daniel (Chris Goltz) after she saves his life. The four gods of her island send her on a journey that will test the power of her love. Other characters include Sarah Behnke as Mama, Brian Roeder as Tonton, Madison Monnette as Little TiMoune, Wesley Monnette as Daniel's son, Glenn Thompson as the gatekeeper, Sara Van Duinen as Daniel's mother, Leah VanLaanen as Andrea, Doug Tiede as Papa Ge, Sara Bertagnoli as Asaka, Casey Hoffman as Agwe, and Molly McFarlane as Erzulie.

"Once on this Island Jr." is directed by Amanda Rhines, with assistance by Courtney Monnette and Barb Bertagnoli. Tickets are $5 for general seating and will go on sale at the box office Tuesday, June 1. Box office hours are 4 - 6 daily and to curtain time on show days. Call 715-735-4343 for tickets.
