Course Prerequisites

Course Description

This course is designed to provide the practical skills and knowledge that students need to become effective entry level structural modeling designers in a shipyard or marine design agency.

In this course, Learners will complete six Learning Plans in which they demonstrate their competence by:

  • Analyzing a 2D scantling drawing
  • Correlating scantling drawings to build strategy/module breakdown
  • Creating 3D parts in a planar group
  • Creating a 3D structural model
  • Creating assembly and profile plot drawings
  • Creating nest drawings
