New Freshman
Definition: Recent high school graduate or HSED/GED holder.
Admission is simple -- submit the following to the Student Services Office:
• The University of Wisconsin System application for admission
• The $35 application fee
• ACT or SAT scores (if under 21 years of age)
• Official high school transcripts and/an official copy of your HSED/GED scores (if applicable) and official transcripts of any university or technical college coursework completed while in high school

*Students who do not meet the minimum admission requirements may be asked to meet with the Director of Student Services to discuss their application.

Total: 17 Academic Credits Required for Admission
Returning Adult Student
Definition: Students entering UW-Marinette at 22 years of age or older
Admission is simple -- submit the following to the Student Services Office:
• The University of Wisconsin System application for admission
• The $35 application fee
• Official high school transcripts and/an official copy of your HSED/GED scores (if applicable) and official transcripts of any university or technical college coursework completed while in high school
• Contact the office of Student Services at 715-735-4301 and request an appointment with our returning adult advisor, Mary LaCasse, to explore your goals, review your background and experience, and determine the best educational start for the life you want.

Re-entry Students
Definition: Students previously enrolled at UW-Fond du Lac but not enrolled at a UW Colleges campus during the prior semester.
Re-Admission is simple -- submit the following to the Student Services Office:
• Complete a UW System application form (to update your file)
• Provide official transcripts from any college or university credits earned since attending UW-Marinette
• No application fee is required
• Contact Student Services to meet with an advisor to select and register for your classes.
Transfer Students
(students with credits earned at other universities, technical colleges)
Definition: Students who have attended another university or technical college and are in good academic standing.
Admission is simple -- submit the following to the Student Services Office:
• The University of Wisconsin System application for admission
• The $35 application fee (waived for students who have attended another University of Wisconsin System college)
• Official transcript from college attended
• Official high school transcripts if transferring with less than 30 earned credits.
Academic Standing
Students who wish to transfer must be in good academic standing at their previous college (at least a 2.0 cumulative grade point average). If you are not in good academic standing, transfer to UW-Marinette is possible only by appealing to the Academic Affairs Committee at UW-Marinette. Special Students
Definition: Non-degree seeking students or those enrolled as "guest" students for six credits or less.
Admission is simple -- submit the following to the Student Services Office:
• The University of Wisconsin System application for admission.
• No fee required.
• No transcripts required.
Special students are limited to earning six credits.
Students who plan to earn more than six credits at UW-Marinette must apply as degree seeking students (see New Freshman, or Transfer Student Links). Exceptions may be made at the discretion of the Director of Student Services.
Special students are not eligible for financial aid.
High School Students
Definition: High school juniors or seniors who enter as special students through the Youth Options Program or the Michigan Dual Enrollment Program.
Admission is simple -- submit the following to the Student Services Office:
• The University of Wisconsin System application for admission
• ACT or SAT scores (if available)
• Official high school transcripts and a recommendation from your high school counselor
• No application fee required.
Auditors
Definition: student enrolls in degree course without earning university credit
Auditors pay approximately 30% of resident or non-resident tuition. Classes can be changed from credit to audit within the first two weeks of the semester.

• ACT or SAT scores (if available)
• Official high school transcripts and a recommendation from your high school counselor
• No application fee required.
International Students
Definition: Students who require I-20 visas to study in the U.S.
