The Computer Science curriculum at UW-Marinette includes basic skills courses leading to a fundamental understanding of the general factors which influence human and macine information and communication systems.
It is also preparation for para-professional or professional training. The computer industry is a growth industry that shows no signs of slowing down in the next decade. Computer personnel are involved in virtually every aspect of American business and industry. New jobs are created daily as advances and expansions into different markets create new jobs.
Some of these jobs include programmers, systems analysts, electronic data processing auditors, technical support specialists and sales and marketing mrepresentatives.
Tutors and support help are available when needed.
UW-Marinette's facilities include two-30 station computer PC labs and a 6-station Mac lab in addition to computers located in the library, the foreign language lab and the math lab for student use.
The Mac lab, located in the theatre building, contains Macintosh computers with Quark Xpress and Adobe Photoshop software to work with digital images and desk top design for the Manifest Student Newspaper as well as art, music and theatre projects.
