University of Wisconsin-Marinette

Flex Scheduling

Think you don’t have time to take classes? We know you’re busy, so we have created flexible options that allow you to fit classes into your schedule and work around home or job commitments.

Now you can earn a University of Wisconsin Associate Degree in three years or less taking classes at times that are right for you.

You can complete some classes in only 7 weeks.

Some are offered in a blended (classroom and online) mode. And many classes are offered in streamed video. That means you have the flexibility to attend class if you want. If you can’t attend, you can watch the class online, much like you can record a movie and watch it at your convenience. Streamed video is also great for reviewing a class and helping you to learn the material.

UW-Marinette is dedicated to helping you meet your educational goals. Flex Scheduling is just one of the ways we have scheduled classes to help you.

Flex Schedule Courses

Ways you can access courses to fit your schedule

  • Blended: A Blended course is a 15-week semester course where the course content is taught using face-to-face and online or "time-out-of-class" learning modes. UW Colleges Blended courses are approximately 40-60% online with the remainder completed face-to-face. Textbooks for these courses may be purchased in the campus bookstore. If you are unsure if this type of class will fit what you need, take this quick online quiz.
  • Accelerated Blended: An Accelerated Blended course is a Blended course offered in 5, 7 or 8 week sessions.

  • Flipped Curriculum: Students are expected to watch short videos prepared by the instructor in advance of class so that in-class time can be used for collaborative, problem-solving, and/or discussion-oriented activities. Some courses are delivered completely via flipped curriculum, while other instructors use this method in a more limited format. Some flipped courses are also streamed.
