CERTIFICATE PROGRAMS
Environmental Studies Certificate
The Environmental Studies Certificate provides an interdisciplinary approach to the study of environmental issues, encompassing aspects of biological and physical science, natural resources, philosophy, and economics.
Requirements
The program requires completion of 17 credits in the courses listed below. A maximum of three credits can be transferred into the certificate program from institutions outside the UW Colleges.
Biology
- BIO 103 (4cr) - Human Environmental Biology
- NAT 50 (4cr) - Introduction to Fish, Forest and Wildlife Resources or BIO 250 (4cr) - Principles of Ecology
Economics
- ECO 342 (3cr) - Environmental and Natural Resources Economics
Geography
- GEO 135 (5cr) - The Physical Environment or GEO 130 (3-4cr) Human Impact on the Environment
Philosophy
- PHI 244 (3cr) - Environmental Ethics
